FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Darien, CT (September 8, 2003) – Howe Designs, launched a web site designed to support its marketing efforts. The Darien-based maker of custom home furnishings’ site features a pictorial portfolio of completed projects and a short history of the firm. The site was designed and built by Great Falls Group, a web developer located in Darien, CT. “This site is another marketing step in the growth of my business,” said Cynthia Howe, founder of the 17 year-old firm. “My goal has always been to complete exquisite designs that meet my customers’ design and budget expectations.” The firm provides window and fashion treatments for the home. Her site is located at http://www.howe-designs.com. The firm got its start in 1986 when Cynthia Howe experienced a fortuitous confluence of events. About the time her youngest child, Alex, began to sleep through the night, a neighbor approached her seeking help to sew draperies for her living room. Working late into the night, the two created a set of balloon shades and as a by-product, sown the vestiges of what has grown into Howe Designs. “My mother thought me to sew when I was eight or nine years old,” Cynthia says. “I quickly graduated from making doll’s cloths to making my own. I had lots of other hobbies, but none was as satisfying as sewing.” After working those evenings in 1986, Cynthia discovered she enjoyed the challenge of creating a harmonious, yet varied atmosphere balance of light, color, surface, texture and pattern with fabric. She found she thrived offering innovative ideas that revitalized rooms. One customer led to another. Friends began to request window treatments and furnishings. Soon the business snowballed. “A beautiful room looks sensational for years and years,” Cynthia said of the satisfaction she draws from her work. “A room’s interior design reflects the people who live in it. That personal nature means that the customer and I want to get it right. “It should have all the elegance and comfort that can be designed into it. It should reflect peace and reticence. Beautiful spaces invite you to stay in them. Anything less is merely depressing and unwelcoming.” -30- For More Information Contact: Craig L. Howe |
